I also went to the Romeo Pires show on Tuesday which was a total contrast to the House of Holland show. Models slowly wandered down the runway in flat, pointy brogues whilst wearing loose, bulbous concoctions of printed fabric. It was a new, innovative take on androgyny as the designers used shirts as the basis for many of the looks, but kept the looks oversized and sheer.. Skeleton and bone prints gave the looks an added edge of hardness and surprise. My favoruite looks of the collection are the black tuxedo mini dress (top) and the printed t-shirt and paint splattered hareem pants (bottom), as amid the sea of baggy all in ones and exaggerated button down dresses, these looks were a relief of wearability for me and gave the collection an injection of youthful accessibility. However, personal preference aside, the show was stunning in movement, colour and print and was made eerily compelling by the slow, chiming music. Fingers crossed I might be lucky enough to go to some Autumn Winter 2010 shows...
