After much coveting and indecision, I finally bought a pair of New Balance.... and they subsequently stayed in the box for a good few weeks while I ummed and ahhed whether a black ankle boot person could make the transition into trainers. I’m a real amateur when it comes to trainers. The only ones I've ever really worn are converse and a fairly dodgy pair of white hi-top Reebok Classics while at university.

So I grappled with the New Balance for a while with the intention of returning them until one morning I saw said box, had an urge to wear them and without thinking too much, I did. And I haven’t really taken them off since. They've quite literally put a spring in my step and are really aiding my pre-spring resolution to walk more, rather than hopping on the nearest bus/tube/taxi.

I won’t be relegating my ankle boots to the back of my wardrobe just yet (read, I doubt I’ll ever deem my collection complete), but these definitely have me converted.

A Tale of Two Bags

Well four if you're being exact, but it's two different styles of bag I'm currently coveting, namely a small, boxy black satchel and a colourful woven clutch - a wannabe purchase I'm putting entirely down to next month's trip to Mexico.

Into Tomorrow

I've been in something akin to wardrobe hibernation these recent months, a slump I'm putting down to this long drawn-out winter we still, somehow, seem to be in the thick of. But, despite the recent resurgence of Baltic conditions, I'm sensing the end is nigh and am emerging from said sartorial slumber armed with a lengthy new-season wish list, a few pieces from which I've pulled together above.

I Spy

Obsessed with these new initial bangles and bracelets from Natalie Marie Jewellery that I recently discovered via Instagram.

I've yet yet to take off my beautifully crafted stacking and pom pom rings I got for Christmas and now have these firmly in my sights for my next treat.

Make sure to follow Natalie on Facebook and Instagram (@nataliemariejewellery) for sneak peeks of new designs.

While my hunt for the perfect vintage Levis dungarees continues, these Topshop ones are a pretty good find to fill the void and I've already snapped them up just in case Spring ever decides to show its face here in London....

Spring Fashion for Men 2013

The keyword for men this spring-summer season is comfort and of course, style, mixing and matching styles that blend nicely with wardrobe they already own, gives the idea that being fashionable can also mean affordable. Some men don't like to be too conservative and layer themselves too much with jackets, for this, consider using a dark tone vest with buttons in the front with a v-neck shirt in light colors. Minimalist layering is important this season; you don't want the hot weather to bother you as the summer starts.

Always use accessories to combine your look, like bracelets, necklaces and sunglasses. Avoid going overboard with these so you don't loose your elegance and transform you look into another one. Men also wear accessories like bags, this season; the satchel style bag is a must. This spring, scarves and handkerchiefs are back for that refined touch in a man's look.

Anywhere Anywhere

I love discovering great new sites by like-minded people, especially those that encompass two of my favourite things, travel and food. So I was thrilled to discover just that in Anywhere Anywhere by Londoner turned Angelo (jealous) Phoebe Lovatt after she got in touch about doing a piece on my trip to Goa.

Covering best meals, favourite sundowners and packing essentials, you can read the full interview here. Make sure you check our some of Phoebe's other articles too while you're there. I particularly loved her thoughts on moving to L.A via her travel diary and the affordable travel features such as 100 cool European hotels under £100. Instant running away for the weekend inspiration....

Daria for Vogue Ukraine

Daria Werbowy graces the cover of the first ever issue of Vogue Ukraine, doing modern Bohemia as only she can. Turns out she makes a pretty good cover candidate considering she's half Ukrainian (a little fact I picked up from Molly).  Really loving the mascara-free beauty too-such a small detail and yet makes a huge difference.

Dungarees: Never say Never

I, along with every other kid growing up in the 90s, spent a large portion of my youth in stripy OshKosh B'Gosh dungarees and have spared them little thought ever since. In fact, I remember once stating that dungarees would be one fashion trend I would 'never' dip into. Well, time to eat my words, as I'm now fixated on shopping for the perfect overalls.

First up, I'm after a black leather pair in the vein of Alexandra Spencer (the girl is a lesson in how to do grown-up dungarees) and the best I've found so far are by Philip Lim and Whistles (last picture).ASOS also do a good pair in both leather and denim.

And there's something about classic blue denim shorties with turned up hems that's seriously appealing for relaxed summer days. The summer days part of that statement feels like wishful thinking right now but who knows, maybe the dungarees will make them feel just that little bit closer.
